British Street Soul

Spine Magazine (none)

2x CD Compilation

Release date: Dec 1, 2006, UK

A great selection compiled by Dobie for Spine Magazine of UK soul music from the past decades. Dobie (Anthony Alexander Campbell) is a legendary figure in black British music. From working on the first two Soul II Soul albums, he went on to produce London Posse's all-time classic "How's Life In London?" before recording a solo LP for Pussyfoot, "The Sound Of One Hand Clapping". In between he has remixed everyone from Bjork, Massive Attack, Les Negress Vertes, Tricky to Gangstarr and recorded for a host of labels including Brownswood and BBE. In addition, his career as a skate photographer led to endless covers for classic UK skate magazine R.a.D.
